RIVER HILLS CLUB
The vision of a tennis and sports facility that would be among the finest in the country became reality in the mid-60s when W.E. "Slew" Hester, a Jackson native and USTA president, became the key founder and charter member of River Hills Club. Hester was a pioneer in the explosion of tennis throughout the U.S. at that time and was instrumental in building the National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y., home of the U.S. Open. The vision continues today as River Hills completed an $11 million building project that takes Hesters accomplishment into the 21st century. The scope of improvements begins with the new 26,000 sq.ft. clubhouse and includes and expanded fitness center, pool cabana, new teen center which is located next to our Jr. Olympic sized pool and state-of-the-art Hydro tennis courts.
